As a starting point in the project, we had a requirement to build from scratch a simple system for controlling working conditions in the office. We built the intuitive and applicable system to control internal office environment and improve working conditions and work/rest cycles on the basis of the data gathered from sensors.
Among main challenges we would like to mention necessity to cover both areas of competence: work with hardware (sensors) and software (to program microcontrollers and connect them with web interface).
The whole project was an 'engineering trip' from research and development phase to the end solution live usage which made it very clear of how the iOT type of the product should be brought to life. We started from choosing the parameters to measure and then explored market offer for sensors to use for that purpose.
Real-time measuring of different environment conditions: CO2 concentration, temperature, pressure, humidity

To make the system applicable for decision making we added in the infrastructure visualization dashboard and push notification together with active monitoring logic that tracked the range of acceptable environment parameters values and informed the team when those were lower than recommended.
As an overall outcome we received several results:
- clear understanding of how much it may cost to build from scratch a simple iOT system
- knowledge of how to solve different typical hardware related problems
- improved health condition resulted in increased productivity of the team
